What changed in Canada
High-wage occupation points (announced October 2026)
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced new Express Entry ranking points, from 3 November 2026, for Canadian work experience or a qualifying job offer in high-wage occupations. A qualifying job offer will not need a labour market impact assessment. Point values should be checked on the official page.
Announced2026 Express Entry categories
Category-based selection continues for French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, trades, STEM and education. New categories include physicians with Canadian experience, researchers and senior managers with Canadian experience, transport, and military recruits. Renewed categories need at least one year of work experience.
