The health requirement
What the health requirement means and when a health waiver may be available.

Who it is for
Most visa applicants, and sometimes family members who are not migrating.
Key eligibility
- You must be free from any condition that is a public health risk (especially active tuberculosis), would be a significant cost to Australian health and community services, or would prejudice Australians' access to services in short supply.
- The significant cost threshold is A$86,000.
- Examinations are arranged through ImmiAccount with panel clinics; results are valid 12 months.
- A health waiver is available for some visas only (for example partner, child, humanitarian and some employer sponsored visas), not for parent, visitor or student visas.
